AWARDS SHORTLIST ANNOUNCED
Surrey Historic Buildings Trust has announced the shortlist for the Surrey Heritage Awards 2022. Six projects have been shortlisted for this year’s awards, which celebrate Surrey’s architectural heritage by highlighting the best recent conservation and restoration projects. A judging panel led by Dr Seán O’Reilly, Director of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation, is currently assessing the shortlisted projects. The Trust’s 2021 Annual General Meeting will be held via ZOOM at 2.00pm on Wednesday 10th November. [Please note this is a change from the previous notice as it had been our intention to hold the meeting at St Mark’s Church, Hale, but due to ongoing health concerns over the rise in Covid-19 infection rates the Trustees reluctantly decided to hold the AGM on-line instead.]

Surrey’s best heritage conservation projects were on show at a major event held at West Horsley Place, one of Surrey’s most significant historic buildings. The winners of the Surrey Heritage Awards 2019 were announced by Mr Matthew Slocombe, Director of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB), and the trophy for the overall winner was presented by Mr Michael More-Molyneux, Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey and the Patron of the Surrey Historic Buildings Trust. The Surrey Heritage Awards Ceremony 2019 will take place at West Horsley Place on Wednesday 27 March by kind permission of Mr Bamber Gascoigne and the Mary Roxburghe Trust.
