Surrey Heritage Awards 2019

Surrey Heritage Awards 2019

Surrey Historic Buildings Trust is inviting nominations from property owners, architects, building contractors, conservationists and local authorities for the Surrey Heritage Awards 2019. The Awards recognise “Best Practice” in historic building conservation in Surrey, and in particular for examples of projects that breathe new life into neglected buildings.

Nominations are sought from all eleven Surrey districts: Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell, Guildford, Mole Valley, Reigate & Banstead, Runnymede, Spelthorne, Surrey Heath, Tandridge, Waverley, and Woking. The closing date for nominations is 30 November 2018.
Judging will take place during January and February 2019, with the short-list announced at the beginning of March. The chief judge in the Heritage Awards is Matthew Slocombe, Director of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB), the conservation body founded in 1877 by William Morris. The Awards ceremony will be held at West Horsley Place, courtesy of the Mary Roxburghe Trust, on Wednesday 27 March 2019. The guest speaker will be Peter Pearce, Director of Mary Roxburghe Trust, and the Trust’s Patron, Michael More-Molyneux, Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey, will present the awards.
